SEASON 1, EPISODES 1, 2 & 3
Jan Palach set himself alight in Prague in January of 1969, when Holland was studying there. This drama follows the repercussions of that act, the subtle detail of everyday life under the authoritarian regime in Czechoslovakia. More than a biopic, it is compulsive viewing, highlighting the fragility of freedom. Tatiana Pauhofová plays the lawyer courageously arguing for normality whilst the ears behind the walls determine the future.
