This extraordinary documentary, awarded with the Special Mention Prize at the 2015 Camerimage Film Festival, tells the story of two brothers coming back to Poland from Kazakhstan after 80 years of exile. The brothers are as different as chalk and cheese; one of them is an artist, painter and a dreamer, while the other is a pragmatic engineer. Despite their love-hate relationship as well as what they’ve had to overcome, their aim is to make their own place in the world, together.
Followed by Q&A with Alfons Kułakowski, one of the brothers from the documentary. The Q&A will be hosted by Sight & Sound contributor Michael Brooke.
Screening organised in partnership with Frames of Representation Film Festival.
